UNIMAID has set the cut-off mark at 140. This is the official score needed to gain admission into the institution. All candidates must meet this cut-off mark to be eligible for admission.

Besides meeting the cut-off mark, the University of Maiduguri only admits candidates who selected it as their first/preferred choice. Those who didn’t choose UNIMAID as their first choice need to apply for a change of institution before they can be considered for admission.

University of Maiduguri Admission Requirements 2025/2026

UNIMAID Admission Requirements are some of the crucial aspects that you must look out for before applying for admission in UNIMAID

For UTME Candidates

All prospective candidates must score at least a minimum of 140 in the recently concluded 2025/2026 UTME.

Candidates need to have at least 5 credit passes, which must include English Language and Mathematics, in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB or an equivalent, and this should be achieved in no more than two sittings.

Prospective candidates must choose UNIMAID as their first choice of preferred institution. If they didn’t, they can still apply for admission after they have applied for a change of institution through JAMB.

Lastly, candidates should be nothing less than 16 years old by the time of admission.

For Direct Entry Candidates

You must meet the below requirements if you’re applying for admission into UNIMAID through Direct Entry (DE)

Candidates need to have a minimum of two (2) A-Level passes in subjects that are relevant to their selected course.

Those with a National Diploma (ND), National Certificate of Education (NCE), or a similar qualification with at least a Lower Credit can be considered for admission into the 200 level.

Just like UTME candidates, Direct Entry applicants are required to have at least five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects, which must include English Language and Mathematics.

All Direct Entry applicants should fill out the JAMB Direct Entry form and select University of Maiduguri as their preferred choice.
